Established 1830

Founded in 1830 by John Rich and Daniel McCormick, Woolrich, Inc. is the oldest manufacturer of outdoor wear in the United States. In the early days Woolrich supplied wives of hunters, loggers and trappers with fabrics. Later, the company also supplied clothing to the American Civil War. Woolrich set its name as an arctic parka specialist when it outfitted Richard E. Byrd’s 1939–1940 Antarctic expedition.
