Established 1992Founded in 1992 as Aero Products International, Aerobed is the leading manufacturer of premium, technologically-advanced air beds. It all began when Aerobed patented a mattress with a build-in pump that could inflate in less than 60 seconds, and a quick-release valve that could deflate the bed in just 15 seconds. The Aerobed was an instant succes. In 2010 Aerobed was taken over by The Coleman Company, Inc., a subsidiary of the Jarden Corporation.
The most iconic air mattress for permanent use dates back to 1981. It was invented and manufactured by Comfortaire (which was later purchased by Select Comfort).
