Table CH327 (1962), Hans J. Wegner

Hans Wegner (1914-2007) was a famous Danish furniture designer, who contributed to the popularity of mid-century Danish design. He designed over 500 different chairs, many of which have become real design icons.

Designed in 1962, the CH327 table is considered the ultimate hardwood dining table. The tabletop is made out of sections of solid wood running the entire length of the table, rather than the width, therefore revealing more of the wood’s natural structure. Being trained as a cabinet-maker, Wegner has mastered painstaking woodworking techniques. The table looks just as beautiful in modern interiors, as it does in more traditional decors. Originally designed to be associated with the Wegner CH36 and CH37 chairs, made of wood and paper cord, the CH327 table is now frequently used with the designer’s famous CH24 Wishbone chairs.
