Wand mixer

Bamix, ESGE Ltd.

Established 1953

In 1950 Roger Perrinjaquet invented a new type of kitchen appliance: he filed a patent for a hand-held kitchen appliance, which describes the first wand mixer. He named the new appliance Bamix, an abbreviation of the French ‘battre et mixer’ (beat and mix). In 1961 Acton Bjorn and Sigvard Bernadotte designed the iconic Bamix Model M 100 in 1961. Today, despite of many technical improvements and detail alterations, the original form can still be clearly recognized.
