Established 1955Founded in 1955 by Anthony Maglica, Mag Instrument, Inc. is the manufacturer and the inventor of the Maglite flashlight. Introduced in 1979, the Maglite is an icon of classic American design and part of the American weapon culture. Maglite flashlights have been known to be used as a ready substitute for a baton. Security and police personnel often carry Maglite flashlights as a defensive weapon, and a lot of scared Americans keep them next to their beds.
