Hohner

Established 1857

Founded in 1857 by Matthias Hohner, Hohner is a German manufacturer of musical instruments, mostly know for its harmonicas and accordions. Hohner was the first to mass-produce harmonica’s, using wooden combs he had made by machine-cutting firms. By the 1920s, the diatonic harmonica had largely reached its modern form.

Introduced in 1896, the Marine Band is has been Hohner’s most popular model of harmonica for generations. Most blues and rock artists play a Marine Band. Several noted users are Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Little Walter and Neil Young.
