Eisbär
Established 1950Founded in the 1950s by Maria Wöss, Eisbär is the world’s most iconic manufacturer of knitted ski hats. It all started when Maria Voss sold her handmade hats in the family-run general store – which proved to be a hit. In 1960, her son Erich Wöss enters the Eisbär company. He arranged Toni Sailer, the skiing idol, as a brand ambassador and attended the trade fair for sports articles in Tokyo. The Japanese loved Eisbär and this constituted the international breakthrough. Eisbär was also on the forefront with the development of the popular headbands and hats with hair look.
