Juwel Stapler (1930s), Fridolin Polzer

Invented in the 1930s by Fridolin Polzer, the Juwel Stapler is the most iconic hand stapler in the world. First produced by Mainz Elastic and Hotchkiss (in the US), the Juwel stapler is a monument of stapler design. It is now produced by Isaberg Rapid, the world’s leading stapler manufacturer, who bought Mainz Elastic GmbH and shifted production to Sweden. Today, Rapid is part of the Esselte Group, also owner of Leitz office supplies.

Why on Wikiconic?
Heritage, design, innovation.
Alternatives
Rapid K1, the best sold stapler in the world. But its design is heavily based on the Juwel.
