Babolat

Established 1875

Founded in 1875 by Pierre Babolat, Babolat is a French tennis, badminton, and squash equipment company, best known for its strings and tennis racquets which are used by several top players. Babolat invented the racquet string made of natural gut, and is the oldest company specializing in racquet sports.

In 1925 Babolat introduced the VS quality. The benchmark for strings was born: VS has equipped the racquets of the greatest champions ever since. To this day, the performance of VS natural gut string remains unrivaled. Babolat focussed on strings until 1994, when it also started to produce racquet frames. Racquets by Head or Wilson have more pedigree, having won the most Grand Slam titles, but all had Babolat strings. Today, most top players play with Babolat racquets.
