Technics SL-1200 (1972)

Manufactured between 1972 and 2010 by Matsushita, the Technics SL-1200 is a series of turntables, widely regarded as one of the most durable and reliable ever produced. It was originally released as a high fidelity consumer record player, but it quickly got adopted by radio and club disc jockeys. Since its release in 1978, the SL-1200 MK2 has been the most common turntable for DJ-ing and is also commonly used in recording studios. Since its inception, over 3 million units have been sold.

In 2010, Panasonic announced that the series was to be discontinued due to marketplace conditions, making them highly collectable. However, in 2016 Panasonic announced that they would reissue this iconic turntable because of high demand.
