Wetsuit

O'Neill

Established 1952

Founded in 1952 by Jack O’Neill, O’Neill is originally a Californian surf wear and surfboard brand, credited to have invented the wetsuit. Jack O’Neill started experimenting with closed-cell neoprene foam and found it superior to other insulating foams. Jack developed designs for a shorty and a long john, and eventually a long-sleeved beaver-tail jacket. O’Neill’s motto: ‘It’s Always Summer on the Inside.’
