New Era

Established 1920

Founded in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch as E. Koch Cap Company, New Era is an American headwear manufacturer, mostly known for its baseball caps. New Era is the exclusive manufacturer of the official cap worn by every Major League Baseball team.

Renamed New Era in 1922, the company produced its first Major League Baseball caps in 1934: the Cleveland Indians Home and Away caps. In 1954 New Era’s fitted pro cap is redesigned and named the 59FIFTY or ‘Brooklyn Style Cap’.
