Bicycle lock (ring)

AXA Stenman

Established 1902

Founded in 1902 by G.H. van Leeuwen as Veenendaalsche IJzerfabriek, AXA Stenman is a leading manufacturer of home and bike security products. In 1962 the company was taken over by August Stenman AB and was renamed AXA Stenman.

AXA has been making hinges, window stays, window- and door fittings as early as the 1920s. In the 1940s, they introduced the iconic ring lock for bicycle, which marked the start of a range of bike components, the second core activity as it is today.
