Camera (action)

Established 2002

Founded in 2002 by Nick Woodman as Woodman Labs Inc., GoPro is an American technology company mostly known for its action cameras. On a surfing trip to Australia, Woodman failed to capture quality action photos and decided to develop an affordable camera system that could capture the professional angles – hence the ‘GoPro’ name.

Launched in 2004, the Hero camera is GoPro’s most iconic product. In 2006 the company introduced its first Digital Hero, with 10 second video capability, and sales went through the roof. GoPro is about to release the fifth generation of the iconic Hero camera.
