Knotted Chair (1996), Marcel Wanders

Marcel Wanders is a Dutch product- and interior designer who designed for leading international companies such as Flos, Alessi, Puma and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. In 2001 Wanders co-founded the successful design label Moooi. Designed in 1996, his most iconic piece is the Knotted Chair, which he produced for Droog. Cappellini took over production and stopped in 2011, after a 1000 of them were made. Since then it has been part of the Personal Editions collection. The Knotted Chair sits within the permanent collections of V&A London, MoMA New York and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
