Borsalino
Established 1857Founded in 1857 by Giuseppe Borsalino, Borsalino is a hat company based in Alessandria, Italy. Borsalino makes felt hats from Belgian rabbit fur, and is known particularly for its fedoras. When Giuseppe Borsalino died, he was succeeded in the family business by his son, Teresio Borsalino. His real success lasted until the 1940s, when the hat business in general declined in prominence. People simply stopped wearing hats on a daily basis. Borsalino fedora hats are still very popular among Orthodox Lithuanian Jewish Males and has a lot of references in modern popular culture. The Borsalino fedora is a real cult object.
