Founded in 1960 by Carl-Wilhelm Edding and Volker Detlef Ledermann, Edding is a manufacturer of writing and marking tools. In the Europe, the brand is are immensely popular, leading to the name Edding being widely used as a generic name for permanent markers.

At that time they started with a start-up capital of just 5000 Deutsche Mark. Their first product was the Edding no.1 permanent marker and the rest is history. the Edding pens are also the weapon of choice by Graffiti artist to place tags with.
