Pool table

Brunswick Corporation

Established 1845

John Brunswick built his first billiards table in 1845 at his woodworking shop in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a successful Chicago meatpacker. By the late 1860s, Brunswick’s firm dominated the billiard’s market. The company grew quickly and added new product lines to its business in the 1880s. Brunswick began exploring the bowling market and selling decorative wooden backs for bars.

The most iconic of Brunswick’s tables is the Gold Crown, preferred for professional tournaments and central to such classic movies as ‘The Color of Money’ and ‘The Hustler’. Since 1961, the Brunswick Gold Crown has reigned as the industry’’s best playing professional pool table.
