Jacket (unconstructed)

Boglioli

Established 1900s

Founded in the 1900s as a simple tailor’s shop in Gambara, Boglioli is now a significant reference point in the contemporary fashion world. In 2005 Pierluigi and Mario Boglioli decided to take the structure out of the classic tailored jackets that the family firm had been making. The result is that Boglioli jackets are more comfortable than traditional tailored clothes. This iconic unconstructed jacket was an immediate success. Also, many of the clothes are garment dyed, which means that they’re washed and dyed after they’ve been made, giving a quite different effect from making clothes from pre-dyed cloth. Boglioli is the absolute benchmark when it comes to this sort of jackets, and already knows a lot of copycats.

Why on Wikiconic?
Heritage, design.
