Begg & Co

Established 1866

Founded in 1866 by Alex Beggin the Scottish town of Paisley, Begg & Co handcrafts exquisite scarves, stoles and throws. In the early days Begg produced Paisley scarfs, which are still on display in the Paisley Museum. In 1902, the company relocated to the seaside town of Ayr, from where it operates to this day.

Begg & Co mostly supplied to other luxury designer brands and was selling under its own name in just a few select stores. Since 2013, Begg & Co operates under its own brand name on a larger scale. The scarf pictured above features the Black Watch tartan as worn by an elite infantry battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
