Founded in 1805 by John Crombie and his son James, J&J Crombie Ltd. is a manufacturer of high-end clothing and accessories, and one of Britain’s oldest brands. Crombie is famous for its iconic woolen, three-quarter length overcoats. ‘Crombie’ is often referred to by others to describe a long overcoat.

Crombie coats were popular with international statesmen and royals. Crombie supplied to the Tsars in 1880, and in 1984 Mikhail Gorbachev was spotted wearing a Crombie coat when visiting Britain. Other historic Crombie customers were King George VI, Winston Churchill, Cary Grant, Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy.
