Diptyque
Established 1961Founded in 1961 by creatives Christiane Gautrot, Desmond Knox-Leet and Yves Coueslant as a shop to display their designs, Diptyque today is a Paris-based luxury goods company that produces scented candles, perfumes, face and body care. The shop gradually grew out into a stylish bazaar with surprising articles collected during their travels.
In 1963, Diptyque introduced ‘Aubepine’, the first in a line of scented candles, which eventually became the focus of their business. In 1968, Diptyque produced their first perfume, ‘L’Eau’, which was later followed by a series of other fragrances.
