Pond's

Established 1846

Founded in 1846 by pharmacist Theron T. Pond, Pond’s is a brand of beauty and health care products, currently owned by Unilever. Pond’s first cream, later known as Pond’s Extract, was extracted from a healing tea with hazel and could heal small cuts and other ailments. By the twentieth century, the company’s main emphasis was selling cosmetics products.

Created in 1914, their most iconic product is Pond’s Cold Cream (as pictured above), a make-up remover that marked the brand’s evolution to a beauty icon. By the mid 1920s it was endorsed by princesses, Hollywood stars and society beauties.
