Freund Victoria
Established 1898Founded in 1898 by Wilhelm Abt, who would later take over manufacturer of forks Victoria, Freund Victoria is a leading manufacturer of garden tools. Their business aims at professional users such as farmers, vintners, fruit growers, plant nurseries, landscape gardeners and road builders. Freund managed to live up to the specific demands of these discerning experts. In 1991, Freund became part of the Johann Offner Group.
Made from hot drop forged carbon steel with hardwood handles, Freund’s most iconic product is the 1954 hedge shears. The blades are grounded hollow, making the blade, to some extent, self-sharpening. The patented center-bolt design allows easy adjustment of blade tension – also convenient for quick disassembly of the tool for cleaning and sharpening. The rubber shock absorbers on most models lessen user fatigue.
