Superga
Established 1911Founded in 1911 by Walter Martiny, Superga is one of the first footwear manufacturers to produce rubber-soled footwear. In 1925 Superga invented the iconic 2750 model, which had vulcanized rubber soles. After closing during the war, the Superga factory reopened and had a mission to bring high quality footwear to the people of Italy. The 2750 went to become ‘the people’s shoe of Italy’.
The ‘2750 Cotu Classic’ canvas shoe has been an icon since the very beginning, peaking just recently when Steve Madden corporation acquired the license to sell, market, and distribute Superga products in North America – making it the people’s shoe of the world. The 2750 comes in a broad range of colours and can be machine-washed at 30 degrees with neutral soap.
