Steering wheel

Nardi

Established 1946

Founded in 1946 by Enrico Nardi and Renato Danese, and initially named ‘ND’, Nardi designed some of the most recognizable steering wheels for the world’s top car manufacturers. These include the original steering wheels on automotive classics like all Ferrari models made between 1959 and 1965, the Porsche 356A, B & C and the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing & Roadster.

Nardi used to work as a test driver and consultant to legendary Italian car builders Vincenzo Lancia and Enzo Ferrari. In 1958 he restarted the cooperation with Enzo Ferrari who, always paying a great attention to details, decided to equip his cars with Nardi steering wheels. An icon was born. Today Nardi still produces steering wheels for some of the worlds finest cars including Lotus and Pagani. Initially (in 1951) using walnut but mostly using African mahogany wood, each Nardi steering wheel is hand crafted to an exacting form.
