Kleenex
Established 1924Introduced in 1924 by International Cellucotton Products Company, Kleenex is the world’s first facial tissue. Originally Kleenex was marketed as a remover of cold cream or makeup, a disposable alternative to cotton or woolen face towels. It wasn’t until the 1930s that Kleenex was marketed as a disposable handkerchief for colds and hay fever. In 1955 Kimberly-Clark Corporation obtained Kleenex and is still the registered owner of the company’s trademark.
