Reebok Freestyle (1981)

Founded in 1958 as a companion company to J.W. Foster and Sons (est. 1895), Reebok is an athletic footwear and apparel company, specialized in fitness, running and crossfit sportswear. Having British roots, Reebok apparel often features a Union Jack flag.

Introduced in 1982, the Reebok Freestyle is Reebok’s most iconic product. It was the first sneaker designed and marketed just for women. The shoe aimed at the booming aerobics market and was released during the 1980s aerobics hype. The shoes are featured in the illustrious Jane Fonda workout videos series. Also, Reebok introduced a workout routine of its own: Step Reebok.
